Greater Derry Humane Society, Inc. is an all-volunteer, non-profit charitable organizationwhose purpose is to rescue animals and place them in loving homes. GDHS has no shelter; all animals are kept in volunteer foster homes until permanent homes for them are found.

We are always in need of foster families, as there are more animals than there are homes to place them in. You must live in the New England area to volunteer your home, or to adopt an animal.

Besides animal adoptions, we also sponsor a Pet Therapy program with area nursing homes, provide dog training classes, hold community pet events, and provide low cost spay and neuter options. Our aim is to educate the public about responsible pet ownership. We welcome any donations to our cause. We are supported entirely by donations and fundraisers with 100% of our proceeds being spent on the care of animals.
