The Egyptian Mau Cat is believed to be the decendants of the sacred cats of ancient Egypt. The Mau is the only natuarally occuring spotted cat. EMRO is a group of concerned individuals who believe the Egyptian Mau should be returned to a position of respect in it's country of origin. We hope to give sanctuary to as many of the feral Muas in Egypt, before it is too late. Many are being targetted by the government in a large poisoning campaign in an attempt to control stray animal overpopulation.
