The scientific name of cat is Felis silvestris catus.Cats have five toes on their front paws and their back paws they have four. There are also cats that have seven front toes and, extra toes on their hind feet. When walking or running, a cat steps with both of its front legs, then both of its right legs. They normally walk on their toes. Domestic cats are known to sprint at approximately thirty-one miles an hour.

Humans have 206 but the cat has 230. Some cites list 245 bones and state that bones may fuse together as the cat ages.

Cats that are aggressive can be very dangerous and veterinary advice should be sought if a cat is persistently aggressive towards people. There are many different causes of aggressive behavior ranging from fear, to over-exuberant play.
