Focus on Felines Photo Contest Rules

Submission Rules

1. You must be the photographer or you have the photographer's written consent to submit the photo. You also must own the cat and if you do not, you must provide the email address and name of the owner with the photo. We will contact the owner for permission to accept the photo.

2. Pictures must be of cats only. Please do not send pictures showing other animals or human beings in addition to the cats, as they will be rejected.

3. Photos must be of good, clear quality (black and white or color) and should be at least 640 pixels by 480 pixels in size (larger is better) and with the jpg file extention.

4. We are looking for good quality photography and will only accept photographs that comply with this requirement. Some common reasons why photographs are not accepted: grainy/pixelized/out-of-focus images; poor lighting conditions; cluttered backgrounds that distract from the subject; light reflection in the cat's eyes (the feline equivalent of the "red eye" effect); small and non-detailed image of the cat itself. There are other reasons as well.

5. We can only accept email entries ( if you do not have digital images of your photos on your computer, most Wal-Mart's, Kinko's and similar stores will scan them to disc for you).

6. Photos that include any names, advertising logos, dates or any markings on them will not be accepted.

7. Your submission is for display purposes by Meowhoo.com on the Focus on Felines contest. We may also use them in other Meowhoo.com publications such as wallpapers and screensavers.

8. Please submit only one photo per surfer. You may enter the contest again, only after your photograph appears.

9. Make sure that you include the following information: Your full name, Your location (State or Country), name of the cat or cats. If you are not the owner of the cat, please include the owner's name and email address and let them know that we will be seeking their authorization to accept the photo.

10. All contestants authorize Meowhoo.com to place a caption with the published photo, which may include your Name, State or Country, the name of the cat.

11. To prevent unauthorized use of pictures, we will be adding out logo to each contest picture.

12. Meowhoo.com reserves the right to add to or change these contest rules without prior notification. All changes will be noted in this page and be available at any time.

Please send all photos to: photocontest@meowhoo.com. Make sure that you send only one image per email and that you include Your full name, Your location (State or Country) and name of the cat or cats in the email. This email is used solely for contest submissions. Emails are held in queue and it may take up to several months for your email to be addressed.
